Gundam Wing was an obsession. Although I still think it has one of the greatest opening episodes ever, and the best character/Gundam combo in Duo Maxwell and Deathscythe, it's not the be-all and end-all once you've got some of the Univeral Century stuff under your viewing belt.

The batteries could be an annoyance (and expense), but the Wavebird lasted ages, even with cheopo batteries. Probably nothing to worry about.

Most American films thses days are forgettable, I'm sure that when the remakes are forgotten too, it's the originals people will want to see.
