Submit discussion topics for the Anime Chronicle Podcast

Yeah, I can appreciate that- I hadn't considered how much more mainstream Ghibli movies are, and certainly when Jerome was talking about the difference in sales between Ghibli movies and Naruto ones, it was quite an eye-opener to say the least. (Other host here by the way, at last :p)

    London expo

Wow, I don't think I've logged in here for over a year o_o; Anyway, I'm going on Saturday. I'm currently constructing a Tony Tony Chopper (Arm Point) costume.

Johnny Depp pirate cameo in Doraemon anime

I hate to be a pedant, but Doraemon isn't technically the longest-running Japanese anime ever. Sazae-san's been running since 1969 and is still going, getting to over 1700 episodes. Doraemon's stopped and started a bit, and only got to 1049 in 2005 when the original series finished. So yeah...

Voice of 'Kakashi' Makes Surprise London Apperance

Well, surprise or not, if they didn't announce it then they wouldn't get the extra draw of people that perhaps weren't thinking of attending previously. I was tempted to go, but I have a heavy weekend ahead of me already without a trip into London straight afterwards.

UK MP critisizes amount of anime on UK kids TV

Look here for a list of UK-produced TV series. I still think this is being blown way out of proportion.

UK MP critisizes amount of anime on UK kids TV

That's what I thought- it's not a criticism of anime per se, rather the lack of genuinely decent British animation around now. But when was there ever a UK animation industry? As far as I can tell it's always been dominated by US and Japan. Even in Cosgrove Hall's golden years (aside from...

New Paprika and Appleseed 2 trailers online

Never heard of Paprika myself, but I'm definitely up for Appleseed 2. I liked the first one.

Pokemon: The First Movie (japanese cut)

Yeah, the Japanese music score's so much better than the US. I have it on CD. I haven't seen the original edit of the film, but I'd quite like to.

    Naruto: Shippuuden (Hurricane Chronicles)

As far as I'm aware of the plot of the manga, even where it currently is there's still a HECK of a lot more story to go; I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even halfway through the entire overall Naruto plot. There wouldn't be any point re-introducing any of the characters at all if they...

    Naruto: Shippuuden (Hurricane Chronicles)

America's dubbed well into the seventies now; it shouldn't be too long before we see some more. I imagine the new TV scheduling season (around Easter time, maybe summer) will bring about a new load.

theOtaku.com embargo on news to expose convention fraudster

It's not necessarily just the naivety of anime fans specifically- it's just people. There are scams being run everywhere and, unfortunately, there will always be people too trusting to give it a second thought, especially if the apparent reasons behind it seem more compelling than usual. Some...

    Naruto: Shippuuden (Hurricane Chronicles)

    I'm desperately trying not to watch it until there's a few more episodes been aired- I like watching mine in bulk lots. I'm really looking forward to seeing it, though. It's about time, too >.>;

theOtaku.com embargo on news to expose convention fraudster

I'm a member of theOtaku's blog community and only found out a few days back; I was pretty upset when I read about it. I think (or hope, at least) that they'll be pursuing him to get everyone's money back. Apparently it's not the first time he's done things like this, either. (Thanks for...

Next UK Naruto set out in May!

Mmm... I was annoyed that the second box set was delayed, but I'm glad the next one's finally appeared on the release schedule. Pity it's a longer interval than the last one, though. I want to see the Chuunin Exam arc again. And the Tsunade arc. And the Sasuke retrieval arc... after that I can't...

    Half-Life 2 Episode 1 > You

I bought Half Life 2: Episode 1 the other day and I can't say I've been disappointed. I'm dreading that it's going to end very soon, though- I'm on the third chapter. And it'll be x amount of months until the next one. At least we only need to wait until the end of 2007 for the story to...

    Anime Expo CA, anyone?

I don't suppose anyone else is heading to California for the beginning of July? I'm a bit apprehensive going by myself, heh. Jus' wondering if youse all wanted a log kept. I imagine I'll be keeping a blog and taking photos while I'm there anyway, but if you wanted me to look out for anything...

UK release of Full Metal Alchemist #6 to come with LE tin

Well, let's hope they take this on board and think about how to approach this in future >.>; I don't mind either way. They look good, but the tins are an impractical size for me to store with my other DVDs, so I wouldn't buy them anwyay. And I have all the soundtracks, so having a duplicate...

    Japan takes anime to Iraq

I think it's a nice idea. After all, you need to be able to give people some sense of normality to be able to restore a country's working order.

Naruto scores highest ranking manga volume ever

I suppose it's probably the first volume that's been bought en mass, as such, as opposed to slowly accumulating buyers. But that depends on how the chart's taken. And considering the anime hit America a few months back and I'm guessing that manga tells the story somewhat further on from where...

    Laputa - ITV 1988

I remember watching that ^_______^ I was only two and a half... I'm glad the nicer English dub exists- Aside from there being more needless jokes, Disney even edited the music score during the bit with the doves flying around the valley to the bugle. The DVD case isn't exactly inspiring, too...
