It's that time of year again. So I wondered what you voted for from the nominations:

I've also made a poll for the Anime of the Year category, as I did last year. Rules are 1 choice, no change...
In the count down to the release of Belle in cinemas on the 4th of February (official website) it's as good a time as any to watch his previous films.
Belle is Hosoda's 7th feature length film as director and the 5th as writer/director. This thread will be dedicated to the 6 non-franchise films...
Planetes is a 2003 anime series from the studio behind Gundam, Sunrise. It was directed by Gorou Taniguchi (Code Geass, Back Arrow) and adapted by writer Ichirou Ookouchi (Code Geass and Devilman Crybaby) from the 4 volume manga by Makoto Yukimura (Vinland Saga).

August sees the 75th anniversary of the end of hostilities in the Second World War, although skirmishes continued. This came swiftly after 2 of the most singularly horrific acts of war (as in a one off act as opposed to the many horrific acts perpetrated over longer periods during the war) ever...

Little shocked to see Sakuta actually upset that his sister regained her memories. I guess we know what caused his Puberty Syndrome, he couldn't help his sister back then, but is Shouko-san an illusion and thus also part of it? Possibly, but then again the her note was still on the table. Again...
