Agree, haven't seen a film like this for quite some time. It stayed with me for a long time after it finished- I'll definitely be recommending it to my friends.
Realising how much I love films like this doesn't make me feel very manly though , going to get back on Dexter series 3...
I know man, I was so vexed after I bought this and started watching. The "sound renewal" soundtrack is so poor by comparison- I just don't know what they were thinking. I complained to Bandai but unsurprisingly they didn't get back to me.
Has anyone got a link to the R2J or R3 versions?
I only really play Doom-style shoot em ups, games that simply don't work on consoles imo. Having said that, the PS3 does look amazing- if they make new versions of Gran Turismo or GTA for it I'll think about getting one. And you can play PS2 games on it too :)
Not playing anything atm cos of exams  but have got Pariah and some game called Boiling Point waiting to be played when I'm done. Last thing I played through was Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, pretty good.
Half Life 2 still owns everything that's been released on the PC since though.
Up to 26 eps is fine imo- nearly all my favourite series are 26 or under. I'm watching Great Teacher Onizuka at the moment and there's no end in sight!
Just started watching the anime, the intro theme is good, anime needs more drum n bass! But yeah, definately pretty strong stuff... looking forward to seeing more.
Well I just hope the UK release is better than the current US one, this movie deserves a lot better.
the story certainly doesn't suck
don't worry, no scandalous nude robots to scare you away this time..
Finally got round to watching this film and it blew me away: jaw-dropping animation, well-paced and varied plot and another sublime soundtrack from Kenji Kawai. Yeah, I suppose you could say I enjoyed it..
Any thoughts / UK release info much appreciated :)
I don't really watch anime for the sake of watching anime- if there's nothing out there that interests me, I won't watch it. There are plenty of anime that I will come back to again and again though (Akira, Patlabor, GITS etc). I can't understand anyone giving up on anime as a whole- I don't...
Yeah it was good to see a some decent anime included (there was a bit of crap anime too). I couldn't believe that f***wit from Toonami, he gave the stupidest summaries of Akira and Princess Mononoke imaginable (think Jonathan Clements did a pretty good job, but it was still pretty generic).
Not too impressed by this poll to be honest- they've already decided what the chart is going to be made up of- Spongebob Squarepants is there but no Cowboy Bebop? And why is Legend of the Overfiend included as one of the precious few anime contenders? Absolute *********.
I tend to just watch one episode of whatever series I'm watching a night and then maybe a film at weekends. Unless its Eva or Cowboy Bebop, in which case a marathon is in order :)
