Hey, AL, are you gonna do that BS move where only UK customers can buy them like last year?
I hope you don't. I might get some items. Sure, they might not arrive before Christmas, but who knows. (If the really good deals make it worth the hideously expensive shipping)
EDIT: Yeah, I know like...
Agreed, though, the new FUNi release of the movie, which does have lossless 5.1 audio in both Japanese and English, has poor picture quality. Worse than the previous release by Image Entertainment- whose transfer Manga UK and Umbrella (in Australia) used.
Moral of the story: never let me take guesses when I’m not 100% certain on something. Otherwise, better and wiser people correct me. Not that it’s a bad thing, but perhaps I should give a disclaimer when it’s me taking a guess.

The letters are P L A, which when arranged spell PAL. They're showing the exclusive 25fps version. (lol)
Also, for those not in the know, Justin Sevakis is the owner of MediaOCD, who does all the Discotek Blu-rays. He's the best Western anime compressionist who isn't Italian...
Yeah, I know it's a new one. I even said... wait, not on here. Oh. This is so confusing when you're on multiple forums, you loose track of what you said and where.
Yes, I know it's a new transfer. I was just posting it as a way to build anticipation for when AL gives more detail on the UE,
I've...
The idiots at Shout Factory announced this:
Perfect Blue Blu-ray/DVD
They claim it has a "beautiful new digital transfer", which I call BS on because people who saw the theatrical release here said it used the same master as the old AL BD. So, Anime Limited... have you anything to share...
I re-posted Neil's posts on Your Name on Blu-ray.com (with credit) and mp3dom responded in regards to the image distortion:
"Those artifacts (glitches and colored blocks) most of the times are not encoding problems but due to digitizing problems (problems when reading the master tape)"
He also...
I have the JP release and it's perfect. If you want to be very picky, the Italian Dynit release encoded by mp3dom is the best- with less banding- but it's not worth it if you already have it.
The JP 4K one is an upscale of the original master which was a native 1920x1080, but the HDR is...
True, but there they misspelled credits of a 40+ year old series as well. Kimi no na wa doesn't have that.
But that sucks. Whoever did the compression here made some mistakes, though not as bad as Madman.
I will say the suitcase looks better with those pictures, but damn... £225?! That's absurd. I won't repeat my thoughts on not including re-encoded discs, but the price is too high for just a suitcase, CDs and an art book.
Andrew said the CDs ate up most of the price, and I believe him, but if...
