The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Oh there's no doubt it was pre-animated, some of the footage is from towards the end of the arc and there's no way they've got anywhere near that. Doesn't change the fact that it's not CG animation ala the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero though!

I thought Bleach looked (computer assisted) 2D? Certainly not a CG animation like, sadly, DBS Super Hero.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Episodes 1 - 12 Review

The adaptations of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure have returned to our screen via a Netflix 12-episode drop. Beginning the anime version of Part 6: Stone Ocean, these episodes feature a female lead character and female-heavy cast along with a prison setting, so do these departures work in the...

The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Wow, that's a fact I never knew about. I remember Tracey Island builds on Blue Peter more than the re-runs of the show I saw growing up in the late 80s/90s.

Robotech - Part 1: The Macross Saga Review

I'm all for natural, subtle film grain, that's why this seemed so excessive as soon as I put the first disc in the menu played footage in the background. The blacks are nearly greys because of the amount of noise in them. Overall it didn't hurt my watch of the series much, but it was...

Robotech - Part 1: The Macross Saga Review

Robotech means a lot to American fans of a certain age, while Macross means a lot to Japanese fans of many ages. Here in the UK, however, neither hold massive sway, least of all Robotech, which was barely featured on TV here. So how does a Blu-ray release containing just the original 80s dubbed...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

So I recieved my copy of Psych-Pass: Sinners of the System yesterday. I have to say the box is a hell of a lot chunkier than I was imagining... Not complaining as such, but it is odd to have three one-hour stories take up more room than the first two series combined, very nearly both series...

Yeah, that's more it. Basically Victory is just really poorly written, which is depressing in a different way, especially given its length...

I imported Gundam NT through them before... then ended up buying the official UK release for the matching packaging... Since I've watched Hathaway on Netflix I'll wait for the eventual matching box...

My Hero Academia – Season 4 Part 2 Review

The second half of My Hero Academia’s fourth season is a more relaxed affair after an action-packed first half, but is that a bad thing? Continue reading...

Neo: The World Ends With You (PS4) Review

In a rare look at a recently released video game, it’s time to answer this question: how can you follow up a 2007 Nintendo DS game on home consoles in 2021? Given the core input method at the very least would have to change, it would be a hard ask. Let’s see if Square Enix and the team at...

Netflix's Live-Action Cowboy Bebop to Release This November

As per usual with these live action adaptations I don't see the point in making it and I don't want to watch it but I'll watch it anyway "just in case" and then almost certainly not like it as predicted.... 😐

I enjoy the show and its influence can't be understated but £200 is too rich for my blood. Looks lovely though!

Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World Volume 3 Review

After a reasonably long delay (especially if you wanted the physical version!) the final third of the “Can’t Fear Your Own World” Bleach light novel is here and manages to not only tie up its own story but it also reveals some long-awaited Bleach lore, details and backstory on top… Continue...

No both Wing sets had a picture background. To be fair so did both Gundam 00 sets (and oddly only one of the two Seed boxes inside the big box...) so at least the overall boxes for those reduced the picture-spine count.... Also I'm happy to compromise slightly mismatched sets in order to have...

Yeah, just got in for a bit of lunch and there was a small box waiting for me, I had no idea what it could've been but happy to see the Seed collection. Seems ages since I brought it! (because it was, but you know... still felt like saying it...)

I got them as well this morning. Top marks for packing as it was wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a cardboard box surrounded by airbags (the plastic kind, not the car kind...) No chance of bent corners there!
