Urusei Yatsura TV collection 1 on its way from United Publications. Oh. Mah. Gawd. What a time to be alive.
Got Gunbuster and Wind of Amnesia on order, another two early UK VHS releases. For some reason I never watched Amnesia even though I did watch most of what Manga put out on VHS. Even...
Feels like déjà vu. Couple of years ago we had the same conversation about 0080 (and the similarly accessible/standalone) 08th MS Team.
Can't see them happening at this point. They won't even engage with us about the possibility or otherwise for whatever reason. And there must be one, because...
Any opinions on the Your Name 4K disc? I know it's an upscale but HDR can have a dramatic effect on even a 1080p source.
Definitely getting both Zeta sets as a friend and I are making our way through Gundam The Origin manga and it's amazing. Do I need to watch ZZ as well before Char's...
Pleased to see a mention of the SFII movie from Cold Cobra. Not much story to speak of, true to the games, but the fights in that film are brilliantly animated and choreographed. The whole thing is amazing fanservice.
Gungrave is the correct answer, of course.
Had a look myself and yeah, it's stunning. Takes me right back to 1994 whenever I watch Cyber City: almost 30 years later and finally it looks perfect. Worth the wait.
Annoyingly, I can't sell the old version as there's no way I can part with the amazing art/info booklet.
UP have stock btw...
As I started reading your post I recalled that they raised the prices by £1 at some point. Then you got to that part. Never have I felt a keener moment of kinship with another forum dweller 🤜🤛
Reminds me of getting the first 6 epsiodes of Giant Robo for 6 quid each. What a bargain. Some of...
Have Yuuna, Domestic Girlfriend, or Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher been DotW before? Those are the ones I'm waiting for. Don't think I'd want to pay more than £15 for... that kind of thing 😏
I mean, what are you optimistic about? The proof is in the pudding: CR licensing more anime than ever while putting out fewer physical releases - fewer still in the UK - with higher prices. We should be so grateful for our new corporate Overlords. You may be positioning yourself as a lone voice...
I imagine it'll be at least an additional four months before AL get around to their release. Pompo still hasn't been officially announced or given a date and that's been out in the US since July.
Since I have the Bandai Visual DVD box set, I might just go Discotek in this case and swap the...
Has Don Glees been delayed? According to AL's store it's out 27th March, but I'm sure UP said January when I ordered a week or two ago.
It's literally the only thing I have pre-ordered atm :/
^
Where did you get your copy from? Amazon should be delivering my copy tomorrow.
Haven't bought much lately, but I did get this a week or so ago. I thought this series was never gonna be licensed. It's published by Fakku, though somewhat tamer than their usual output. But they've used the...
It's worth noting that this release has the Limited Edition designation. We've seen this before with Escaflowne, Re: Zero, Silver Spoon etc. Also the new Evangelion and Utena collections. They tend to be the discs with no or minimal physical extras. This is just an odd case because of this...
The new Cyber City is up on the store. Not available to order yet; I think it's supposed to be today's early bird. A Limited Edition (was hoping for a cheaper SE but eh) with art cards for £25. Those who bought the previous edition from the AL store get a fiver off. I bought from UP 😭
Don't worry, HAL and 009 still going strong, half a dozen or so Christmas sales in 💪
Have I missed something with the new early birds? Last year I think they had one up for pre-order each day but I don't see any yet.
