A Place Further Than the Universe is showing as sold out on AL's web store. I'm hoping this is more a temporary "out of stock" thing as there's currently no word of a standard edition and - for whatever reason that nobody seems bothered about - you can't get new AL CEs anywhere but from AL directly.

Ginrei OVA is a lighthearted spinoff that's more fanservice than anything. It's entirely unnecessary. Wish they'd made another couple of episodes of GR instead as while the series does end conclusively, it also leaves things tantalisingly open for more.

I'll be there if it is Witchblade, although I'm still waiting for them to post Samurai 7 🤨 Man, I miss mid-2000s Gonzo.

Thanks for checking. If it's only the dub signs affected I'm not too bothered by this particular issue... unless something else comes up. It is worrying though and makes preordering more of a gamble than it should be. We shouldn't be doing AL's QA for them. I'm also scared to watch Golden Time...

I got that release with the cheapo slipcover. Figured the film would never be released here (again). Bleh. Narratively Venus Wars is a bit weak but the art and animation are incredible, absolutely peak 80s anime. Nostalgia aside, I found the Sentai dub to be a lot better than the Manga UK one...

Doesn't quite work like that, unless they send every item individually. Using Tracked 24, for instance, it's £3.99 for a small parcel up to 2kg. That can be a fair few CEs. Even a medium parcel up to 10kg is only £7.49 - that's a lot of CEs! And these are the prices that regular customers pay...

Now that I've had confirmation it exists, and because unlike Granbelm/Science/Place Further it's still at its earlybird price even though the window has closed, I've ordered a copy of this. The others can wait until a future sale that brings them back to or below the EB. Never seen the series...

Think the Suzume steelbook is £30 retail. Cheapest I've found is £22.49 at Anime-On-Line.

How come none of the recent AL CEs are are available anywhere but through AL? Some are pre-orders but Granbelm is supposed to be out and that's nowhere I can find either.

I have some sympathy for this idea - these are businesses not charities - but at the same time, it is, as has been mentioned, a self fulfilling prophecy. If customers have no confidence in the release of subsequent seasons, they'll be more hesitant in buying a first. Nobody but AL knows...
