A Place Further Than the Universe is showing as sold out on AL's web store. I'm hoping this is more a temporary "out of stock" thing as there's currently no word of a standard edition and - for whatever reason that nobody seems bothered about - you can't get new AL CEs anywhere but from AL directly.

Overseas The Discotek Media Thread (plus AnimEigo)

Ginrei OVA is a lighthearted spinoff that's more fanservice than anything. It's entirely unnecessary. Wish they'd made another couple of episodes of GR instead as while the series does end conclusively, it also leaves things tantalisingly open for more.

I'll be there if it is Witchblade, although I'm still waiting for them to post Samurai 7 🤨 Man, I miss mid-2000s Gonzo.

Thanks for checking. If it's only the dub signs affected I'm not too bothered by this particular issue... unless something else comes up. It is worrying though and makes preordering more of a gamble than it should be. We shouldn't be doing AL's QA for them. I'm also scared to watch Golden Time...

Link This was posted on Blu-ray.com regarding Science Fell in Love. The poster didn't elaborate and nobody there has yet confirmed that anything is amiss. Anyone here, perhaps? I know we buy a lot of anime but few of us actually watch any of it...

I got that release with the cheapo slipcover. Figured the film would never be released here (again). Bleh. Narratively Venus Wars is a bit weak but the art and animation are incredible, absolutely peak 80s anime. Nostalgia aside, I found the Sentai dub to be a lot better than the Manga UK one...

Doesn't quite work like that, unless they send every item individually. Using Tracked 24, for instance, it's £3.99 for a small parcel up to 2kg. That can be a fair few CEs. Even a medium parcel up to 10kg is only £7.49 - that's a lot of CEs! And these are the prices that regular customers pay...

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

Can't believe the day has come that I own all of UY TV again (got rid of my DVDs years ago). Also Bocchi cause where the hell is the UK release, CR? Expect a solicitation any day now, given that I've imported... It's beautiful 🥲 Just the OVAs to go.

That, and going from Kyoto Animation to Xebec 😬 I went for Sister New Devil LE. It's trash, but it's cheap trash in a sturdy art box.

Now that I've had confirmation it exists, and because unlike Granbelm/Science/Place Further it's still at its earlybird price even though the window has closed, I've ordered a copy of this. The others can wait until a future sale that brings them back to or below the EB. Never seen the series...

How come none of the recent AL CEs are are available anywhere but through AL? Some are pre-orders but Granbelm is supposed to be out and that's nowhere I can find either.

Plain white spine 🥲 I'll see how this on goes. If it's not been delayed before the EB price ends, I might take a punt and use the store. They did get Gundam Origin to me quicksharp tbf. I assume the price is due to the soundtrack CD. AL haven't announced a broader price rise as they did the...

I'm surprised neither AL nor MVM have announced Call of the Night yet, given its reception and popularity. Golden Time seems like an odd choice, but then so does a lot of AL and MVM's recent licenses. Eh, what do I know. Be nice if someone announces Akiba Maid War and Dangers in My Heart...

They don't even mention distance selling regulations - our statutory rights - in the FAQ. It states they only accept returns for damage 😬 It's a pity to see them squander the good will they'd built up in their first few years. I'll buy their releases if there aren't any problems with them but...

I got Food Wars s2, Zombie Land Saga s2, and Sleepy Princess from the Amazon/Entertainment promo thing. Got the latter two today but Food Wars s2 apparently on backorder. The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Says on the site that they're doing maintenance and checkout suspended until January. I guess they'll keep going until they can't shift any more of their remaining stock? I grabbed their last copy of Bakemonogatari just in case. Used to own the Aniplex LE but sold it years ago. Feel like...

I have some sympathy for this idea - these are businesses not charities - but at the same time, it is, as has been mentioned, a self fulfilling prophecy. If customers have no confidence in the release of subsequent seasons, they'll be more hesitant in buying a first. Nobody but AL knows...

Noone has Redo of Healer yet 😏 Hopefully there are enough viable series from the back catalogue and newer releases (like Call of the Night/Akiba Maid War) to go around. It is looking increasingly as though Crunchyroll have a death grip on the UK market, at least in terms of more recent...

I wonder how many of these are "coming in 2024" in the same way that Place Further than the Universe was "coming in 2023" 😇 Some really nice stuff there, though. I missed the CE for Gundam Origin part 1 so I'm blimmin' well having that new complete LE. Love Origin.
