It's been updated on the store page now. I was going to say that I'm sure it was still 16th August a day or two ago. They make use of multiple social media sites and yet somehow don't think to communicate these things.
Shows from that era would benefit from SD on BD releases. Sentai and Discotek have done a few of those. They'd look better by virtue of less compression/Blu-ray's superior video codec, no awful smeary upscaling, and HD subtitles. And a 13-episode series would handily fit on a single disc.
Let's hope so, but it's still TBA on their site. And Fujiko/Anemone have also been changed to TBA for some reason - the former released over two weeks ago.
Summat weird going on with them and UP. I did get F91 from them pretty soon after release though 🤷♂️
Code can only be used with selected sellers (there's a list on the site).
I got Switch version of SMT3 for £28 from Boss Deals/Simply Games. Depending on how many copies Atlus printed, it may not go lower than that.
@ayase
Does your local PO not have the ability to print labels for you? They scan a QR code off my phone and that's it. I do have a printer but not using my own ink...
If an item is not of "satisfactory quality", and I think it would be hard to argue against that description with cosmetic damage to a collector's item, then you should get a replacement at no additional cost to you.
It's crap for the retailer who's probably done nothing wrong, but that's the...
Thanks.
I'm of the opinion that subtitles should be as unobtrusive as possible while still being readable (death to yellow), and those seem okay to me.
But I regard the translation of on-screen text as a kind of bare minimum to be expected from a professional commercial anime release. Having...
How long ago did you pre-order? Bit shocking that they weren't even able to fulfill direct pre-orders.
I mean, at least I haven't paid for the copy I was originally expecting to receive in November. AL deserve credit for fixing the video (though arguably should have used Justin Sevakis in the...
The film is based on a semi-autobiographical story written by the author as an apology to his sister, whose death he blamed himself for. How accurately events mirror reality is unclear, but he portrayed Seita - or himself - in a deliberately unsympathetic way.
None of this means you or anyone...
Earlier this week they responded to someone asking about it on Twitter. Stock expected sometime next month 😫
I have no idea how Base managed to get copies when I've not seen a single copy in stock at any store I've checked since release, but I'm gonna take a chance and hope they don't post it...
Took a while to arrive from WowHD. Initially I was only looking for a copy of WXIII, which appears to be OOP, but for the price thought I might as well get the whole thing even though the TV series is kind of...eh.
Well, I had to. I love these live CD+BD sets. This one not as ridiculously...
I have the US edition, tis a mighty fine looking disc. I like steelbooks but I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed by the art on this one. At 40 quid I might have to pass.
On the plus side, I don't see those emails because I order their releases from UP instead.
On the downside, they haven't sent them stock of Violet Evergarden yet 😫
Got Planetes though. Great release.
Maison Ikkoku is amazing, obviously, but for anyone planning to watch* it I'd recommend going in expecting a sitcom with some romance rather than a romantic comedy (for what that distinction is worth). I've encountered a few people who were frustrated with how slowly the main relationship...
He always came across genuinely enthusiastic about anime and what AL were doing. Also has the best, most recognisable, and downright dreamiest voice in UK anime fandom - with the possible exception of our own Professor Irony. I wish him the best.
You're in the US though, right? For those of us in the UK, shipping and VAT will push the price close to retail. Even if there's a 50% discount, I don't think Sentai ship directly outside of NA and Right Stuf's shipping costs are 😱
Oh, and there's Amazon if you don't mind your lovely steelbook...
Yeah, DVD subtitles are awful. Pity Kino's Journey didn't get an SD Blu-ray release for better compression and subtitles. Or just Blu-ray with the video left as is and not smeared like Gankutsuou and others.
How did I not know that RahXephon was getting a Blu-ray release? Even Google brought up nothing. I ended up going to Sentai's website for confirmation that it exists.
It's a beautiful Steelbook but... $130 retail. I'm pinning my hopes on MVM for a more sanely priced UK release.
Edit: just seen...
