UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Strange. Did MVM author the discs locally this time, or were the Nozomi discs used again, albeit altered to remove the OVAs?

    Trinity Blood Collector's Edition Review

The copyright year would usually remain unchanged, as that was the year the copyright came into effect, even when they do a remaster or upscale. The upscale in question was done in-house by Funimation (now Crunchyroll), as there is no Blu-ray release in Japan. MVM's discs in question were the...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I can confirm that Seraph of the End uses the Universal discs. Unfortunately, I'm unable to confirm anything regarding The Heroic Legend of Arslan as I don't have the release.

    Anime at the cinema

Funnily enough, I attended the 9th October screening of Inu-Oh. I missed out on both screenings of Goodbye, Don Glees due to work. I'm on Twitter, using the same handle as here (albeit in CamelCase), and I usually use a photo of myself as my profile picture, so you'll be able to tell what I...

Same here. I actually live in a village roughly 20 minutes (by car) away from Colchester (I won't mention the name of the village on here).

That's interesting. My local arts centre is showing Blue Thermal on the 25th March too (unless the arts centre you mentioned is the exact same one as I mentioned).

The UK DVD and BD Locked Subtitles Thread

Golden Kamuy has been added to the list. I received Summer Ghost and The Deer King, both Anime Limited titles. I can confirm that the subtitles for The Deer King are completely optional both on the Blu-ray and the DVD, via both the main menu and during playback. As for Summer Ghost, this is a...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Kind of off-topic, but speaking of which, I will say now that any UK release of a recent Sentai title, either by Anime Limited or MVM, that uses Sentai's discs are guaranteed to have locked subtitles. Sentai has been locking the subtitles in all of their releases, and re-authored re-releases...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I bought myself the Limited Edition set of Seraph of the End, and interestingly, Anime Limited re-used the Universal discs. Can anyone confirm if AL's release of The Heroic Legend of Arslan used the Universal discs also? The reason for asking is that unlike Seraph, the discs for Arslan have some...

Ahh, I see. Thanks for this. Now I won't have to worry too much about clicking "Accept".

I will say that the link "read our policy" goes to their Privacy Policy page, which is thankfully legitimate, but if you rather not take any chances, I don't blame you. Also, after about a minute, the consent prompt disappears strangely.

This may be on-topic, seeing as the RightStuf Holiday sale is on its last 2 days at the time this is posted. I was going to buy something on the RightStuf sale, but I've noticed their cookie consent prompt looks a bit dodgy. What do you think? (Image seen on my tweet below)

Thanks. I've added My-HiME and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection to the list. I've also added Bungo Stray Dogs (and the movie), the Steins;Gate movie and Fairy Tail (Collection 6 (Disc 3) - 11 and the Final Season).

Regarding One Piece Film: Gold, was the disc based on the Funimation US discs, or was it locally authored?

UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2022 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

In the end, I got: MVM: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I'm glad I checked first, regarding Space Dandy. I asked Grav (who has Funi's release) on Twitter earlier, using episode 13 as an example, and confirmed to me that the insert song in that episode has subs. Guess I'll be going for the US release instead.

Thanks for the posts regarding Nadesico, folks. Now I just need to decide whether to chance a purchase of the UK BD of Space Dandy, or check if the US release actually translated the insert songs in the subtitles first.

The UK DVD and BD Locked Subtitles Thread

I've refreshed the main posts of my locked subtitles thread. I will now only list the title and the distributor. Speaking of distributors, all Funimation UK titles released by Anime Limited will be listed as "Anime Limited" to avoid confusion with the Manga/Funimation rename. And in regards to...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Thanks, and secondly, I'm debating about whether I should get the UK release of Space Dandy, or import Funimation's release. The UK release didn't subtitle the insert songs or the OP and ED, but the musical episode had the songs subtitled, plus the subs are locked (although that's not much of a...
