Non Non Biyori episodes 7-12: so relaxing. If only all crises could be that trivial. The Host: Korean giant monster horror film starring three of the cast members of Master of Study. Excellently scary with overly jaunty music on the end credits. Got it from CEX and was confused to see it said...

Master Of Study episodes 11-16 and end: excellent series about forcing teenagers to study to get into the top Korean university. Not as many laughs as Love Hina, but some excellent moments of dramatic tension (maybe just a few too many moments). Loved actor Bae Doona and her "tcha's" which...

It gets a lot more apocalyptic in later episodes, falls apart for about half a dozen episodes on the island, then comes together for a satisfying finale.

Urusei Yatsura episodes 1-13: Well, I finally got to see how it all started. Nice to learn who all the characters are (and their names, like finding out the little floating kid is Lum's cousin and is named Jaiten/Ten, which was never mentioned in the movies). Still can't see what any woman sees...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

That would explain why they suddenly decided to send me Non Non Biyori S1 today, as I had it and Pompo on the same order. I'd be upset at the delay in Pompo, but my backlog means I probably wouldn't get round to watching it until Christmas anyway. :)

Master of Study episodes 7.5-10: Enjoying this show of torturing teenagers to get them into university. I can see why this is so popular in Asia, where parents are probably forcing their kids to watch it for the study tips alone and teachers are threatening some of the torturous lessons, and...

Grimoire of Zero episodes 10-12: very disappointed with the ending, which I felt was just one a big wimp out. I mean . Not sure I'm gong to keep this one. Master of Study episodes 4-8: ooh, so much tension and unorthodox teaching methods. I'm enjoying this. I could have sworn there was a...

Both Lady Snowblood films, some more Bluey, Grimoire of Zero episodes 1-9, and the first three episodes of Master of Study, a Korean drama about one determined man trying to turn a school of delinquents into stars before the school is closed down (based on a manga and apparently very popular in...

Quintessential Quintuplets season 1: entertaining and at times annoying. Do we get answers at the end of season 2? Not sure I could last another 12 episodes if there isn't a proper resolution.

Gankutsuo (Count of Monte Cristo) episodes 13-24: Phew, that was exhausting! Good action packed story that threw in a few surprises towards the end. Excellent music score as well. Now I need something fluffy as a counterpoint. I think it's time to pay a visit to the Quintessential Quintuplets.

UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Just got the email from Anime Ltd for Flying Witch. £44.99 so, even with my member discount, it's cheaper to pre-order it from MVM. I suppose I'd better do just that, so I don't feel left out of the gang. :)

Gankutsuo (Could of Monte Cristo) episodes 1-12: Following the classic Dumas novel fairly closely, even if it is set in the future and involves some aliens). I've not seen any of the movies (since I was a kid) but I can't see how a film could fit in all the complex machinations of the Count...

I'm not a huge sports fan. I bought Princess Nine for my nieces two decades ago (when they were all under ten) and they never watched it. I found it on the shelf when I was visiting Australia last month and brought it back with me. I may even watch it. I did buy and (sort of) enjoy Keijo in the...

I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job episodes 6-13: I rewatched the first couple of episodes a few months ago, and it has been preying on my mind that I should finish the series (despite it being a rewatch), so I watched them last night. Still fun, in a very booby kind...

Oban Star-Racers episodes 13-26: hard to stop before the big finale. I enjoyed this. I just wonder what the humans did to the Crog to earn so much hatred. Now to decide what to watch next.

Oban Star Racers episodes 1-12: good story, lots of action and some interesting aliens. Pity about the lack of noses, though. It looks and sounds great, and I'm happy to have taken a chance on the Kickstarter.
