I'd go second hand for hi-fi, you'd get better quality that way, but I don't believe that vinyl is better than CD or tape, just different. It's all better than digital files though. on a phone through airpods or whatever.

Soundtrack, Vinyl... Bugger that! What's the point of vinyl? I got rid of my deck 20 years ago. I thought someone would license the new anime by now, It's been, what, two years? Was it on Amazon or Netflix or something?

Thanks for this. Finally went for the Universal Arslan and Seraph sets, despite the annoying tat. They've stopped allowing reuse of the SIGNUP10 code, but since I'd never ordered from them before, happy with the discount.

Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs

As I said, with the compression on the site, I’m not compelled to go learning a whole new bit of software just for grabbing a few pics. The pics are never going to be identical to what you’ll see on screen, and since most people are reading on tablet or phone... it’s a review site, not an image...

The images on MyReviewer are superficially representative and not a true one to one capture of the disc content. VLC was used to capture the frames in png format, an old version of Graphic Workshop Professional (Windows 3.1) used to batch convert the pngs to jpg at 100% quality (typically a 3MB...

Seven Mortal Sins was released in the UK by MVM. It’s the one with all the tits. The interesting show is yet to be licensed for the UK.

I know. I linked to my review as a source regarding the player incompatibility. The banding I reported as something I saw with my eyeballs.

Castlevania Season 1 Plus banding up the wazoo. Makes Re:Zero 1 look good.

The Q & A Thread (for questions that do not need a thread)

To date, I've seen HSOTD three times, and I've been equally entertained each time. It's one of my anime comfort food shows. I'm not fan of fanservice BTW, as I currently wish a slow death to High School DxD.

    Physical Copy Vs. Digital

Most importantly, you don’t need batteries for a book unless it’s dark.
  13. Just Passing Through

    Physical Copy Vs. Digital

I'm a hardcopy over digital advocate. But if I ever needed the room, and had to shunt my discs to storage, I certainly wouldn't rely on streaming services to always have titles I want to watch on hand. I'd instead go the route of a home media server, loading up on hard drives to accomodate my...

Overseas Cheaper Alternatives to AoA BD Releases

Wasn’t there a NISA release of Anohana in the US before Aniplex nabbed it?

UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

Poundland has a shelf of Blu-rays selling for £2 each, proper studio fare. I’ve picked up some interesting titles like The Artist, The Hateful Eight, Night at the Museum twin pack, Argo and more. Anyway, someone found Legend of The Millennium Dragon (Manga) in a store, so it might be worth...

UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

I don't think anyone cares about MCM anymore. MVM usually just tweet a few licenses over the weekend, and Manga don't bother at all. Only Anime Limited do a presentation, and last Expo's wasn't that hot IMO.
