I suppose it could be a combo of bidding on shows early, then the Production Committee/licensors for these shows being slow to respond to approvals and these shows being low on both there and AL's priorities.
Adding to the echo chamber here, but I was another day 1 supporter of AL and have spent a lot of money with them over the years, but between space concerns, an increasing backlong, increase of prices for fairly medium collectors editions, and the number of delays. Also having access to more...
Surely the first item of business would be complete reform of BBFC so anime series longer that 52 episodes have the chance of being financially viable.
2nd would be getting blu rays pressed and getting everyone off DVDs.
I saw the most recent re-release of Akira at the cinema and I really disliked it. Felt like a lot of noise reduction was taken to it and while it looked clean, it caused it to feel a bit too modern.
I missed the dust and such which was part of Akira's charm as an early 90s anime.
We are certainly getting most of them (Bocchi The Rock being the glaring hole).
That said, there's a lof of stuff they don't seem to be putting to disc. A cynical person would say they are only putting the mid and lower tier shows to disc to try and recoup some costs, and keeping the shows that...

Ctrl + F Japan gets you most (about 21 results), plus Mangaka and Fan Service is alloted to anime and manga specifically, so I guess adds to the count.

If its a medieval-esque fantasy world, I expect the...
All subtitles will have references of the time its released. The original Japanese language will have speech and cultural references and turns of phrase. Are you expecting translations to be constantly updated to the Kings English of the year when you're watching it?
So a show from the early...
I don't see what the problem is? If that is how a character of applicable age and culture would speak in English, then it would be correct. Like when Osaka accents are made to sound like a Southern US drawl. Its making the idea applicable to someone who's understanding is in English. Just...
After the dog-turd turnaround of last year's Early Birds. I imagine all the Xmas Early Birds are the announced ones and pretty much all in stock for release in the next few weeks.
Well that is more Crunchyroll Home Video ********.
That said, after it got uploaded to the site and since it can be streamed here, I thought they'd not bother with a disc release of any quality in the UK.
Hosada has cranked out a film in Summer every 3 years since 2006, so I imagine he's well into production on a film for next year. Belle was announced in mid-December the year before release, so maybe we'll get some info in the next month or so.
I did pop into Fantasiapelit in Helsinki when I was there. I don't think I bought anything, but might be worth popping into if you are around the city centre.
