Which anime would you like to see "re animated"?

Hokum

Straw Hat Pirate
With the remake of EVA, and hollywood remaking films, which anime would you like to see done with modern technology?

My self i'd like to see new Patlabor, i've only seen odd bits of the series, but i know i'd love to see it in modern 3D and cell animation.

No tampering with Patlabor please. It could do to be cleaned up and remastered, but the animation is just fine the way it is. I'm not a big fan of remakes, but have to admit the Zeta Gundam movies were surprisingly well done and had me wishing they had reanimated all the footage.

Personally I'd like to see anything from the 90's - Early 00's that contained naff CGI have it removed and replaced with a better version or even traditional animation. I think this was probably the original intention of GITS 2.0 but it ended up going too far.

It'd be cool to see stuff like Bleach with better quality animation.
But bleach uses modern technology already... only reason it does not have better quality is because the producers are cheap =P

But isn't that rather like saying you really like the original "Planet of the Apes" or "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and approving of those godawful remakes? :P
Sorry, I think I misunderstood this then. I'd like to see Akira remade with current technology as GiTS was done.
No changes to anything, but animation quality.

The advantage of the remakes, if they are better you can say "HEY LOOK THE BEST GOT BETTER"... Or "YOU CAN'T IMPROVE ON PERFECTION" if it isnt...

With reanimation you dont have to put up with rubbish acting changes.

Has anything apart from GITS ever been reanimated without changes to the story though? If thats the idea (I might be the one who's got it wrong chaos) then quite a few low budget series with good storylines could benefit.

A full length series of Cyber City Oedo 808 please.

I like this idea.

We could get the cyberpunk genre back into the forefront remaking all the 80s and 90s shows where the story is still cool but the animation did not age well. After watching the Aramitage shows and films again recently I think they could benefit. The original vampire D would be another good option as the story still holds up okay but some of the animation is a little tired, Bloodlust looks so much fresher in comparison. Maybe the earlier Macross stuff, trying up the space battles.

GTO, it gets so much better after the point in which the anime ends, story gets a lot darker and better and because of the two filler episodes which resolved miyabi's story, it wouldn't be possible to continue unless them two episodes where ignored.

Another pick of mine would be gantz, dino arc anyone?

Akira? That film remains the most visually impressive anime ever (it had an astronomical budget and was animated at 24fps). It really doesn't need re-doing.

I can't really think of anything. I like the look hand-painted cel animation.

'Welcome to the NHK': Despite being one of my favourite animes it suffers from some serious breakdowns in the animation department, something which I always thought was a shame given the quality of the storytelling.
