In addition to the inevitable Art of Ponyo on the Cliff, Picture Book and Film Comic releases that are out there for many Ghibli properties, Viz Media is also preparing an English translation of a 500 page collection of essays by Miyazaki himself entitled Starting Point: 1979-1996.

Ghibli World has an interview with editor Nick Mamatas about the collection, who describes it as 'an important book' that will likely sell on a healthy year to year basis amongst a market of core animation and ghibli enthusiasts. Viz's extensive US-published Studio Ghibli library is available in the UK through amazon.co.uk, but there is still no local distributor for the books.

I'll probably snap this up sometime myself, but the Ponyo artbook comes first to sit next to the other five (though I still need the watercolour Nausicaa and the Pixar art of books keep going out of print!)
