Here's a scan of an add for Naruto boxset 1 from Neo magazine, confirms the thinpak design instead of the foldout card design for the R1 release. Thanx Starflower2525 for the scan
Manga have added the cover for boxset 2 to their site.

What makes you say that is not a fold-out? Fold-outs often come in slip-cases to contain the folder, you know. Besides, the one I saw at the Manga stall didn't look like it contained thin-paks to me... We will know for sure soon enough I guess. |

| Thin packs are always better than fold outs. The fold out cases seem to break easily. |

it is a thinpack
i saw the actual copy on display at Foribiden Planet Day before yesterday
all i saw was the case though (no actual inside content)
so i could be wrong, but judging fom the size, it looks like it could be t hinkpack, or some kind of Brick style dvd case. |

From some of the video i saw from the Uk Manga Naruto dvd version, all i know is that everything is the same(apart from that the uk version has like 2 extra, extra's which are not very ''wow''), even the subtitles are the exact same font and style as the VIZ usa release.
and also the luky uk buyers of the dvd wont have to get annoyed at the constant appearence of the term 'Shonen Jump's' obove the naruto logo whenever it is shown (that is probably my biggest annoyance with my Us one.)
would like to hear some info from the uk owners of the dvd. |

Didn't you same something earlier about there being no subtitles for onscreen text in the US release? Manga's version has subs for some but not all onscreen text . Only watch disc 1 so far and am really pleased with it. |

Ok, I wrote a whole assload of stuff about this on Toonzone so I'm copying, my bad.
Just watched the first two episodes and it's completely uncut and then some. They even have the "This show is sponcered by" cards (Intro and Outro), the "Tune in for the next episode!" Card and then a full english credits (Musicless). Bravo, Manga, You certeinly pulled this one off nicely, quabbles about certain word conversions aside (Art of Eros, using the "Mr." thing for teachers, Noodles, nonsenve that doesn't realy matter worth a damn realy if your out for an uncut DVD, it's just diffrent way of saying nonsence).
And now, DVD CAPTION NO JUTSU!
DVD Menu (Uses the DUB TV opening and alternates between Team Seven, Kakashi and Iurika)
"Sponcered by" Intro Card
Sexy Jutsu (or "Art of Eros" as translated in the subtitle)
Iruika Sensei (Or "Mr Iurika" as translated in the subtitle)
"Sponcered by" outro Card
"Tune in next week!" Card |

I'm really glad it's a thinpack...I HATE foldouts. Generally, they're awkward and SO easy to damage.
Really cool that some people have theirs already...I only ordered mine on Thursday night, because I thought it wouldn't come until Monday either way...maybe I'll preorder vol 2 way in advance. >_> |

From the point of view of a complete Naruto newbie (I have a vague recollection of seeing ep #1 on fansubs ages ago but that's it) the first few eps are helluva lot of fun and are presented really well. The subs read fine and the packaging is really nice too: the standard keepcase in cardboard sleeve that's typical of Manga Ent's stuff, with all three discs stacked up on the same button thingy. Kind on shelf space indeed. |
