For what it's worth, The New Files is a direct continuation of the TV series while the third film isn't part of any continuation. You’ve basically started at the worst possible point. I’d recommend at watching watching The Early Days OVAs before diving into Patlabor the Movie 1 & 2

Does anyone know 100% if the Panasonic trick works on their 1080p players as well? I really want Getter Robo Armageddon and Giant Robo OVA (not confirmed to work on B players either way) but I'm scared
